WARSHIPS FOR CANADA
OTTAWA, January 17. Britain has presented to Canada two new destroyers and two cruisers. The Minister of the Navy, Mr. MacDonald, said these were straight gifts, with no strings attached. In addition these four ships of the latest design and modern armament would contribute greatly to the strength and balance ot the Royal Canadian Navy. The gift provided a striking example of close cooperation and mutual assistance between Britain and Canada since the outbreak of the war.
POLISH SUBMARINE’S SUCCESS
RUGBY, January 79. During a recent patrol in the Aegean Sea, the submarine Sazik sank a 6000-ton enemy supply ship, states a Polish naval communique. She also destroyed 'two small supply ships in the same area.
