ALLEGED BRIBERY
AIRCRAFT CONTRACTS. (Rec. 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 18. The trial has started at the Central Criminal Court of Rex Morley Hoyes, formerly of Auckland, and managing director of Cunliffe Owen Aircraft “Limited, who is accused of making gifts of £lOOO and £2OO to Harold Lavers Armstrong, of the Ministry of Aircraft Production, and Henry George Bloss, who are summoned for accepting such gifts. The three defendants, who were on bail, pleaded not guilty. Sir Patrick Hastings, K.C., and Mr. E. R. Richardson are appearing for Hoyes.
