REEFTON NOTES

[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] REEFTON, Nov. 23. Sapper R. McKane, 2nd N.Z.E.F. Forestry Coy., who recently came home, left for Christchurch on Monday to enter hospital. Mr. E. Black, who has been an inmate of Grey River Hospital, has returned home. Mrs. A. Doig (Totara Flat) who is an inmate of Reefton Hospital is improved in health. Residents in the Reef ton area who rely on tanks are becoming short of water. There has been almost no rain since Labour Day, and the district is in need of a good downpour. Buller Road, from Walshe Street corner to the railway station crossing, is being prepared for an enlargement of the sealed road strip. Blacks Point road is also being treated with the grader and the surface improved. County workmen are re-metalling footpaths in several blocks in Broadway.
