MONTHLY MEETING [OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HOKITIKA, November 1,9. The Westland Hospital Board met yesterday. Present: Messrs E. . W. Heenan (chairman), T. W. Duff, T. P. O’Neil, J. A. Murdoch, A. R. Elcock, W. J. Richards, F. de Freitas, G. Heinz and W. A. Jamieson. The financial statement, showed receipts £6673/11/1, - expenditure £2041/19/7. Accounts passed for payment amounted to £2423/6/9. The National Bank of New Zealand Ltd. wrote agreeing to overdraft limit of £7OOO for quarter. It was to call tenders for the painting of the Nurses’ Home. The Matron’s report for the month of October stated: Number of operations 40, X-rays 139, massage and physiotherapy treatments 249. Highest number of occupied beds 82, lowest 64, average .for the month 73. The’ Medical Superintendent’s report stated:—Remaining in Hospital 72; admitted during October, 85; total treated during the month, 157; remaining in. Hospital October 31, 70. The Engineer’s and farm reports ‘were approved, the latter showing that the following produce had been supplied to the intsitution: —Eight and a-half sacks of beetroot, -640 gallons of milk, 158 pints of cream, one pig, one calf, 651 dozen eggs, and 3cwt. vegetables.’"
