MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.

The West Coast Rugby Union’s management committee met last evening, Mr. A. A. Adams presiding. It was decided that efforts be made through the Canterbury Union for a match at Christchurch on September 18 for the Hokitika third grade team. The St. John’s Sunday School Superintendent wrote thanking the Union for the use of rooms at Rugby Park. Mr. T. Mclntosh was appointed manager, and R. R. King captain of the team to play Canterbury at Christchurch next Saturday. The team is to assemble at the railway station on Friday evening at 5.30 p.m. It was decided that Greymouth players assemble for practice at Rugby Park on Thursday evening at 5 p.m. and that Greymouth players selected to play Buller train at Rugby Park on Tuesday and Thursday of next week at 5 p.m. It was decided to request the Railway Department to arrange a special train to Westport on September 11 for the Seddon Shield match. It was decided to send the Seddon Shield team to Westport on Friday morning, September 10. Fixtures for Saturday:— Third grade: Celtic v. Blaketown, Rugby Park, 1.30 p.m. (J. Minehin). Knowles, Cochrane, and Grimes, who had been selected to play for Canterbury against West Coast, are not available for next Saturday’s game, and their places will be taken by Lockhead, D. H. Taylor, and Lindstrom.
