HOKITIKA, July 14. The District High School Committee met on Monday evening. Present: Messrs Armstrong (chairman), Solviney, Hadfield, Laurenson. Harper, Leslie, Graham (secretary), and Stevens (Headmaster). The Chairman reported on a visit from. Mr Turley and Mr Biggs, the Canterbury Education Board’s architect, and advised that the Committee’s request regarding the carrying

out of certain improvements would be attended to. The Headmaster reported that the position of the sports fund was approximately £2O. The instructor of A.T.C. training applied for permission, and the expense that would be incurred, in respect of the utilisation of school premises.—Permission and a charge of £lO was agreed. Accounts totalling £27/14/3 were passed for payment. ■ The Headmaster’s report was read and approved. The roll was shown as 2bl Primary and 105 Secondary.
