Mr and Mrs C. Gerraghty returned to Christchurch, this morning.

Mr. W. M. Stewart left this morning, for Christchurch.

Mr. and Mrs. C. Heaphy left this morning, for Christchurch.

Mr. J. Logan left this morning, on return to Dunedin.

Mr. J. Ryall, M.L.C., left this morning, for Wellington.

Mr. M. B. James left by to-day’s express for Christchurch.

Sergeant Major A. C. Hulme, V.C., who is now on the Army Instructional Staff, is visiting Greymouth.

Dr. H. S. Ray left this morning for Wellington to attend a B.M.A. Council meeting. He will return to Greymouth on Thursday.

Rev. G. I. Laurenson, General Superintendent of the Home Mission Department of the Methodist Church, left Greymouth to-day for Hokitika. Later in the week he will proceed to Dunedin.

Private Char>s Preston, of Greymouth, and Private B. C. J. Champion, and Private T. F. Champion, both of Westport, are included in a list of New Zealanders repatriated from Italy last week. All are safe in Egypt.

Private Doris Alexander, who was •mentioned in despatches recently, was the V.A. nominee from the Hokitika Red Cross Society and W.W.S.A. eighteen months ago. She trained at the Westland Hospital and since going overseas has seen service in Africa with the No. 2 General Hospital.

The death occurred at Dobson this morning, of Mr. John Samuel Geoghegan, a native of Shag Point, aged 62 years. Deceased had been in failing health for some time and had been under medical treatment. He was found dead by neighbours at his home this morning. He lived for the greater part of his life at Dobson, with his parents, and since the death of his sister some six years ago had lived alone. The funeral will .take place at Stillwater Cemetery to-mor-row.
