The story presents two attractive young people of noble birth, penniless 'in America, dependent .on their social charms for a living. Shearer is engaged to a rich lawyer, Lt \ Bowman, but throws him over wheh she meets Douglas. Society 1 'however, welcomes them less as a couple than it did singly as companions for extra guests.
