Registrations: Recent registrations include Vai Ray (Truman DirectWrack mare), owned by Mrs E. S. Landrebe, Kumara, and Pin Hi, a trotter, by Oxford Scholar—Mintson mare, owned in Rangiora.

Change of Dates: The Canterbury Jockey Club has been granted permission to change the dates of the New Zealand Cup meeting from November 21 and 28 to November 28 and December 5. This will leave a clear Saturday between the last day of the Metropolitan Trots and the opening of the galloping fixture. Irate Sold: Irate has been sold by Mr. G. Murray-Aynsley to a patron of J. L. Muir’s stable at Te Rapa. A four-year-old bay mare by Myosotis from Berate, Irate had only three starts last ' season, winning the Stonyhurst Handicap at Riccarton in November, after a hard tussle with Sir Gundi and Good Scout. Her lone success put her out of hack class, and she has not started since.

Highly Assessed: In awarding Kindergarten 10.0 in the Caulfield Cup and 9.13 in the Melbourn Cup, the Australian handicappers rated the New Zealander very highly. Actually, not a single horse has won the Caulfield Cup with such a poundage, and only three horses have won the Melbourne Cup with greater weights, these being Archer, who got his second win with 10.2 Carbine, who carried 10.5 to victory,, in 1890, and Poitrel, who scored with 10.0 in 1920.
