CHRISTCHURCH, July 2

The feature of the Addington sale yesterday was the sharp rise recorded by fat sheep. Opening about 2/dearer than the average price at the previous sale, wethers brought 3/6 more for special quality sorts, and numerous pens sold from 43/-, some going as far as 49/-. Fat ewes, though dearer, did not advance to the same extent. Fat cattle brought £ 1 a head higher for fat steers. Store sheep: Best quality ewes were keenly sought after, the top price being 26/6 for a pen of 65 twotooths. A line of four, six, and eighttooths brought 26/-, and another 22/7.
