A London cablegram announced the death of Sir Joseph Larmor, professor and author. He was born in 1857.

A New York cablegram announced the death of Mr. Raymond Bartlett Stevens, Chairman ot me United States Tariff Commission.

Mr. A. H. Jones, of the office of the Department of Agriculture, Greymouth, will leave this evening, on transfer to Christchurch.

The Right Rev. Monsignor Edge of Auckland, died, to-day, after a long illness. Born in England in 1875, he was ordained in 1904, and has been in the Auckland Diocese since 1905, and parish priest at Parnell since 1930. He was made Domestic Prelate with the title of Monsignor in 1935, in recognition of his services to the Church. —P.A.

A Press Association telegram from Auckland, to-day, announced the death of F. J. (Curly) Ohlson, aged 77. He represented Auckland at Rugby and cricket, and was a noted runner and tennis enthusiast. He coached school children in the finer points of the game, and visited Britain with the 1924 All Blacks, and saw Davis Cup matches in Auckland, United States and France.

Dr. A. G. Davis, a former Auckland University College student, has returned to Auckland from the University of Wales to occupy the chair of law. Professor Davis graduated as Bachelor of Laws from Auckland University College in 1922 and left New Zealand in 1928. After periods of lecturing at the London School of Economics and Hull University he was appointed to a lectureship in the University of Wales, where he has been for the last three years.— (P.A.)

The death occurred at the Grey Hospital last evening, after a brief illness, of Mr. Henry (“Dibbs”) Jones, a native of Brunnerton, aged 63 years. Deceased, who was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jones, of Brunnerton, was engaged in prospecting in the Moonlight district, for many years. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. D. Kennedy (Taylorville), and Mrs. J. Hallinan (Christchurch) The interment will be private.

A Winnipeg cablegram announced the death of Bishop Matheson, former Primate, in his sleep. The Canadian Press Agency says that Bishop Matheson was endowed with exceptional leadership and executive abilities combined with natural humility and personal charm, which enlarged his sphere of influence far beyond the Church of which he was the official head. He was born in Manitoba in 1852, and spent all his life in Canada. He retired from the Primacy in 1931. .
