TOURNAMENT FINALS

Events which were unfinished at the Greymouth Lawn Tennis SubAssociation’s annual Easter tournament were completed at the Greymouth Club’s courts, yesterday, under ideal conditions. The matches were watched by a large crowd and some good tennis was witnessed. The results were as follow: — Combined Championship Doubles— Semi Final: E. Pattinson and Miss O. Stapleton defeated T. McKendry and Miss J. Bendall 4/6, 7/5, 6/3. Final: E. Pattinson and Miss O. Stapleton defeated L. Armstrong and Mrs. Shapcott 6/2, 6/8, 6/2. Women’s Handicap Singles (Final): Miss P. Dowell (rec. 30) .defeated Miss'O'; Stapleton (owe 30) 9/3.

Combined Handicap Doubles —Second Round: Pierce and Mrs. Bunt v. Todd and Mrs. Cowdrey 9/6. Gilmour and Miss O. Stapleton v. Todd and Miss A. Jackson 9/6. Baddeley and Miss M. Costello v. Gilmour and Miss V. Clements 9/7. Quarter Finals: Baddeley and Miss M. Costello v. Pattinson and Miss E. Henderson 9/4. Armstrong and Miss Z. Armstrong v. Pierce and Mrs. Bunt 9/2.
