Chapman, United States amateur champion, also reached the third round. He and Ferrier appear to be probable opponents in the final. SWIMMING. WANGANUI, January 17. The following have been selected to represent Wanganui at the swimming championships at New Plymouth: Miss P. Cave, 75 yards intermediate breaststroke; Miss N. Anderson, 100 yards and 220 yards, also 75 yards girls’ breaststroke; G. Batt, 100 yards boys’ intermediate. CROQUET WANGANUI, January 17. The North Island croquet tournament was continued to-day in fine weather. Mrs. Brass (Wanganui) defeated Mrs. Bryan (Wellington) in the final of the women’s championship.
