STENOGRAPHERS’ EXAM.
GREYMOUTH RESULTS. In the November annual examination for stenographers conducted by the Government at Greymouth, the. following pupils of the Convent of Mercy were successful:— Misses Elizabeth A. Gibson, Kathleen P. Pollock, Eileen D. Warwick, Miriam A. Roper, Doreen M. Gosling, Dorothea Browne. In this examination candidates were required to obtain 98 per cent, in order to reach the pass standard. The test in shorthand was at 80 words per minute, and in addition there was a test in English. The names given above are in order of merit.
TECHNICAL SCHOOL. The following pupils of the Greymouth Technical High School were successful in the Public Service Commissioner’s examination ■ ■ for shorthand-typists:— Senior: Greta Williamson. Junior: S. M. Braithwaite, Betty Douglas and Dorothy May Congreve.
