TRAM-DRIVER’S DEATH [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, December 9. A tramload of people, including many children, proceeding to Balmoral beach on Sunday morning, had a narrow escape when the driver, unnoticed, collapsed and died on his controls. The tram rapidly gathering i speed ran through the customary stopping places, when the conductor took in the situation and rushed to the driver’s cabin and saw what had happened. He applied the emergency brakes, and brought the tram to a standstill.
