Japanese forces launched attacks on Chinese positions on the south bank of the Yangtse, where the Chinese have been threatening Japanese shipping plying between Shanghai and Hankow. ANTI-U.S.A. FEELING. SHANGHAI, December 5. The Japanese army newspaper, “Sinshun Pao,” demands that Japan shall deliver the United States a smashing blow and extinguish American support for the Chinese Government at Chungking. “We hate the United States more than we hate Chungking,” the newspaper states. “The time will come when either we must swallow the United States or they will swallow us.”
