t COMMISSIONS ANNOUNCED. Appointments and promotions of officers in the Royal New Zealand Air Force are announced in the latest Gazette. In the Administrative and Special Duties branch the following are granted honorary commissions with the rank of flight lieutenant (as from October 28): —Leonard Williams East, M.Sc., Alfred Frederick Ellis, M.Sc., Arthur Lionel Litt, M.Sc., James Douglas Mackay, 8.A., B.Sc., John Joseph Timothy McAuliffe, M.A., John Duncan McDonald, M.A., M.Sc., John Straker Webster, M.Sc., Frank England Whimp, M.Sc. The following are granted honorary commissions with the rank of flying officer:—Fraser John Edward Baillie, B.A;, B.Sc., Arthur Colin Espiner, M.Sc., Archibald Johnston, Clive Gerrard Liddell, M.A., Edward Lunn, B.Sc., Murray Davy Nairn, 8.A.. M.Sc. Honorary Plying Officer Alfred John Calder, B.Sc., is promoted Honorary Flight Lieutenant, dated October, 28. In the Equipment branch, Section I, Flight Lieutenant Sidney John Hearn is promoted Squadron Leader (temporary) as from October 1. WHENUAPAI STATION [PER’ press assqciation.J AUCKLAND, December 1. The appointment is announced of
Squadron Leader John Seabrook, of Auckland, as commanding officer of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Station at Whenuapai. Hitherto there has been only one unit of the general reconnaissance squadron, commanded by Squadron Leader Roberts, at Whenuapai, but it has now reached the status of a station, with an elementary flying training school added to the reconnaissance squadron. Squadron Leader Roberts will con-r tinue in command of the squadron.
