OBITUARY
MR. JOHN C. TRUSCOTT The death occurred last night, at the Grey Hospital, of Mr. John Curra Truscott, a native of Cornwall, aged 79 years. Deceased came to New Zealand 72 years ago and spent some time in Thames before coming to Greymouth over 50 years ago. After being for some time on the staff of C. Smith, Ltd., Greymouth, he opened a grocery business in Tainui Street, later removing to Mackay Street. He was one of the oldest members of the Greymouth Bowling Club, being a life member and a past president. He was also a trustee of the Methodist Church and one of the oldest members of the Star of the West Druids’ Lodge. His death followed an illness of about seven weeks. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. H. Smith, of Greymouth, and one sister, residing in Thames. The Juneral will take place to-morrow afternoon.
