Advice has been received by Mr. and Mrs. E. Osborn, of New Lynn, that their son, Private G. R. Orsborn, who left New Zealand as a member of the First Echelon,, has been killed by a bomb. Private Osborn, 32, was single. He enlisted when the war broke out. He came to New Zealand from England at the age of 16, and was farming in the North Auckland and Putaruru districts. He has a brother in London, and two married sisters in New Zealand. —Press Assn.

A London cablegram announced that the singer, Hinemoa Rosigur, of Auckland, had been killed by a bomb. Mr Jordan attended the funeral. Hinemoa Rosieur, a dramatic soprano, was the first vocalist to win the Melba Scholarship. She left New Zealand for Melbourne in 1934, went to London in 1938, and sang- many times before Royalty. She understudying prominent opera singers. When war broke out, she commenced nursing in a hospital, and was known as the “singing nurse.” She was aged 27.
