On three charges of theft, allegedly involving a total of £1296, Phyliss Olive Barnett, 31, was in the Police Court, to-day, committed for trial in the Supreme Court. Robert Urquhart, barrister, said that from April last, accused had been keeping his trust accounts under his supervision. As a 1 result of something he heard from the bank, he accused her of falsifying the books. Accused said things were wrong, but she was trying to put them right. Acused pleaded not guilty. Beginning-the first regular passenger flight from, Auckland to San Francisco, Pan American Airways’ American Clipper took off from the Waitemata harbour ‘ at 7.50 o’clock this morning with 14 passengers, aS well as mail and freight.
