SENTENCED FOR THEFT

LONDON, December 9.
Trevor Edward Williams an accomplished linguist, aged 18 years, who was described as a potential meinace to a realm, was 'sentenced to six months, at Birmingham, for tile theft of a Medical Corps uniform, and also of a quantity of books. Evidence was given that Williams corresponded with Britain’s enemies. A search of his bedroom disclosed photographs of Hitler and Goering, a quantity of Nazi propaganda, and also letters to persons in German with “Heil Hitler!” over the signature, promising support for Germany in the event of war, and also suggesting methods of maintaining German contacts through neutrals. Among his correspondents were Dr. Rosel, the cheif Nazi agent in England, who has since been expelled; also the Baroness von dec Golitz in Pomerania.
Williams was a clerk in a firm manufacturing aeroplanes and submarines. He had a key fitting the. chief clerk’s ddsk. The firm lost two confidential documents which would be most valuable to the enemy. His theft of the uniform is believed to have been part of a plan to break the Defence regulations. Williams was a member of ’“The Link.”
