WAR RESOLUTION OPPOSED The resolution passed by the West Coast Trades and Labour Council describing the war as “another Imperialistic struggle,” calling on the Government to explain why New Zealanders should fight, and to give an assurance that conscription would not be introduced, was the subject of. the following resolution passed at the quarterly meeting of the Westland Gold Dredge Workers’ Union, yesterday, morning: — “That this’ union concurs entirely with the State Miners’ Union and dissociates itself from the vicious resolution arrived at by the West Coast Trades and Labour Council. “Further, that this union withdraws its representatives from that council until such time as the resolution in question is rescinded. “That this union pledges its support to the Government to any measure that the Government may dejam necessary for the safety of this country and the British Commonwealth of Nations.”
