The wreckage of two lifeboats,, with the name Hamburg painted over the name Poseidon, has been washed up on the west coast of Iceyand.
COULMORE’S SAFETY ASSURED s

Naval officials in New York are unable to confirm the report that, the Coulmore escaped, but they assume she is safe. They emphasised that she would not use her-wireless if a submarine was in the vicinity.
The captain of an American ship who was in the neighbourhood said it was unlikely that a submarine would have made an attack in the very heavy seas that were running at the lime.
• PAN-AMERICAN SAFETY ZONE. ' WASHINGTON, November 3. Mr. Hull, in a statement, said that the object of the Pan-American safety zone patrol was solely to secure the 'ullc‘ l information regarding activities in the restricted area. It did not involve “the exercise of force on the part of any American Republic.”
