COUNTERING SOVIET EFFORTS [BY CABLE —PBESS ASRN. —COPYRIGHT.] (Recd. Nov. 4, 10.30 a.m.). ATHENS. November 3. The Ankara correspondent of the Athens “Neahellas” declares that, following the British-French-Turkish treaties, Italy is seeking collaboration in the Balkans, especially with Turkey and Greece, and indirectly, with Britain and France, with the object of countering the Soviet’s efforts to become the protector of the Balkans. GREEK-ITALIAN RELATIONS LONDON, November 3. The Athens correspondent of the Exchange News Agency says Greek and Italian Notes, published in similar terms, both express the hope that the international situation will soon permit the two governments to give a more concrete form to their friendship and collaboration. In the meantime both intend to adhere to' the principles of the GreekItalian Pact of 1928.
