U.S. AIR BASE
PLANNED AT PUERTO RICA. [BY CABLE —PBESS ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.] WASHINGTON, November 1.
An initial contract of 8,300,000 dollars has been awarded for an air and submarine base at Grande Island in San Juan Harbour, Puerto Rica. It is understood that construction will begin immediately. The base will be the greatest aviation station in the Atlantic, and it will strengthen the Panama Canal defences.
