STATE MINES IDLE
EXTENSION OF DISPUTE. As a result of an extension of the dispute which arose at the James mine l , at Rapahoe, yesterday, both the James and the new Strongman mines are idle' to-day. Yesterday, 1 w|oi truckdrs at The James mine, who allegedly knocked off before time on Wednesday, were stood down for the day, and they were accompanied homo by 24 of their workmates, including several miners. Although short staffed, the mine was able to work. This morning the 24 men and boys who declined work yesterday were stood down for a day, and all of their workmates accompanied them home, idling the James mine. It is understood that the Strongman miners were ready and witting to work, but rs the two mines utilise the same rop.e-r.oad, which had been 'brought to a standstill by the action .61’ the James men, the Strongman mine was also idled for the day.
