BRITISH LINER WRECKED
STRIKES SANDBANK IN FOG. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, October 19. After safely crossing 7000 miles of war-zone waters, with a valuable cargo of foodstuffs, th© Blue Star liner, lonic Star, went aground in a thick fog on a sandbank eighteen miles, off the western coast of England. The liner lias a broken back. The passengers and crew were rescued uninjured. Salvage ships are endeavouring tosave some of the cargo. The lonic Star was inward bound from South America.
