WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP. [PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, October 18. As a result of play in the first and second rounds of the Wellington women’s provincial golf championship to-day, Miss P. Helean (Hastings), Miss M. Jefferd (Hastings), Miss P. Bell (Wanganui) and Miss C. Smith (Invercargill) will contest the semifinals and final to-morrow. Miss Bell, the holder of the title, defeated. Miss Collins, champion of New Zealand, 3 and 2, in the second round. Miss Bell went out in 39, to stand 4 up at the turn.
