HIGH ENGLISH PRAISE

MISS KETTLE'S KENNELS Writing in the English magazine. “The Dog World,” Mr, N. G. Howard bestows high praise on the kennels of Miss Viola Kettle, of Wellington, and formerly of Greymouth. Mr. Howard states: — “It is improper to be invidious, but I cannot help being so in relation to the kennel of fox terriers belonging to Miss Viola Kettle. It came out at one of the shows that I had been interested in stock descended from Champion Listerlin Gay. That evoked an invitation to see the terriers. I did, and found eight or ten from the family from the ‘Gay’s’ son, grandson, and so on. What struck me was the great character of all of them, their wonderful condition, and the fact, that three would be certain champions over here. More-delightful kennels are hardly imaginable. Being in a land of sunshine the dogs have tree-shaded kennels, the whole being quite sylvan. It is not difficult to realise after seeing the type in this kennel, what a loss ‘Gay’ was to this country.’’
