SECOND OVERSEAS FORCE. [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, October 17. The first eight, days’ recruiting for ilie Second Australian Imperial Overseas Force in New South Wales resulted jn 4616 volunteers being accepted and GSG rejected. The State’s quota is 6500. Victorai's quota of GOOO was filled in four days. Queensland has recruited more than 2000 of the 2500 required. Although recruiting for the expeditionary Air Force began only yesterday. more than IZOo applications have alreday been received in Sydney, while since th- war started I'o,ooo young men in New South Wales have volunteered for the air arm.
