CONFIDENCE IN LEADER. [PEE press association.] AUCKLAND, October 17. “Both in England and Canada I felt that the Empire was prepared as never before. There was even greater unity among the people than in the last war,” said Lieutenant-Commissioner Dalziel, one of six nominees in the ballot for the election of world leader of the Salvation Army, who is visiting Auckland on his return to his command in the “Eastern Australia area. Accompanying him is Commissioner Henry, in charge in Southern Australia. . . Lieutenant-Commissioner Dalziet said that the appointment of General Carpenter as head would be very acceptable throughout the Army. “General Carpenter inspires confidence and has a splendid record during 40 years’ association with the Army in many parts of the world,” he said.
