REEFTON NOTES
[OUE OWN CORRESPONDENT.] REEFTON, October 17. The Reefton Tennis Club held the official opening of its season on Saturday afternoon, in glorious weathei. The attendance of players and friends was large. Visitors from Thistle, Inangahua Junction, and Waiuta Clubs attended. Mr. J. B. Auld. Club President, declared the season open and welcomed the visitors. He wished players a successful season. Rev. R. Seaton. President of the Thistle Club, for the visitors, thanked the Reefton Club for their hospitality and hoped that the season would be a happy and successful one for all clubs. Competitions were played and the women’s committed 'dispensed afternoon tea. Several sharp frosts have marred young growth in gardens at Reefton, and early potatoes and tender plants have been bitten. Rain set in yesterday afternoon, after a splendid weekend, and the temperatures are low.
