Mr J. Dennehy (secretary) will present the following report at the annual meeting of the Barrytown Tennis Club, this evening:—“l have much pleasure in presenting my annual report, with the balance sheet showing th© balance of £l. During- the past year considerable improvements have been carried out to the court. The court was top-dressed at a cost of £ 18 10/- and a new net costing £2/10/was erected. These expenses will not be recurring during the coming year. During the season, matches were played with Punakaiki and Runanga, and some interesting games were witnessed-• ’ The Crankshaw Cup, which Was donated by Mr T. Crankshaw, of Greymoutib or annual mixed double competition amongst club members, was won by Mrs Macduff and Mr L. Lee. The winners, of the icup were presented with miniature 'cups, suitably inscribed’. The club is indebted to Mr T. Crankshaw for this Splendid gift. Since the close of the ’season the club has lost four of its members; Mrs S. Mitchell, Miss Lindsay, Messrs L. Dunn and W. McTaggart. Unfortunately, our annual ball ■was held under adverse weather conditions, and resulted in a substantial loss. The coming season promises to be one of the best since the club has been formed, and a record membership is anticipated. Our thanks are hue to the women’s committee for their splendid catering efforts during the season, also to the Barrytown Hall Committee for the use of the hall and the Press for publishing the results of our matches.
