WRESTLING
McCready, v. jones Earl McCready, British Empire champion wrestler, and contender for the world championship, will make his first appearance for two years in the Greymouth Town Hall to-night, when he will meet Paul Jones, another of the world’s leading matmen. McCready has dropped only two falls this season in New Zealand, one to Kirchineyer (python clutch), and one to Prince Bliu Pinder (Indian crab), and he has not had a decision against him. His record is too well known to need repetition, and tlie Town Hall should be packed this evening, to see the Canadain in action. Paul Jones of Texas, is famed for his use of the “hook” or figure-four body scissors, and claims that no wrestler has yet succeeded in breaking it. He is a scientific wrestler, with the touch of showmanship so necessary in the modern matman. His bout against Boesch at Greymouth this season was a thriller, and he can be expected to extend the champion fully. The preliminaries will be the West Coast amateur wrestling championships, which will, commence at 7 p.m. ANSWER TO CORRESPONDENT < “Subscriber,” Totara Flat: McCready states that he tried' several times to lift Pinder for a dump in their match at Auckland before the seventh round, but was unsuccessful.
