N.Z. EXHIBITION
. “BUSINESS AS USUAL.” (PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, September 8. Agreement that New Zealand’s Centennial Exhibition should carry on was expressed both by the Chairman of Directors (Mr. Hislop) and speakers from a large party of Members of Parliament, who visited Rongotai. Mr. Hislop said that the great thing at present was to keep up the morale of the nation, by carrying out the ordinary work of the country in the ordinary way. Not only had many contracts been completed, but the Exhibition would'have a wonderful effect in times of national danger, distress, worry, and trouble. Mr. Adam Hamilton expressed delight at the standard of the display, and agreed that the enterprise should go on. Mr. Barnard (Speaker of the House of Representatives) also agreed that the Exhibition should proceed, and said that Parliamentarians had a duty to see that it was made a success.
