AOTEAROA’S FLIGHT
ARRIVAL AT SINGAPORE [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, August 22. No official confirmation, is given to the message from Sydney which implies that the Empire flying-boat Aotcaroa is likely to make a trial flight from Auckland to the United States. Several survey flights will be made after the Aotearoa's arrival at Auckland, but no information is available regarding a Pacific exploratory flight. With more than 8000 miles of its journey from Southampton covered the Aotearoa is now at Singapore, where a two-day stop is being made to enable an engine check to be undertaken. The flying-boat arrived al Singapore a day ahead of schedule and is expected to leave for Scurabaya to-morrow.

News of the take-off of Hie Californian Clipper fiom the harbour at 12.45 tin’s afternoon was flashed to Auckland from Canton Island, Hie first, stop on the flight. Eleven of Hie crew and twelve United States Government and PanAmerican officials, who inspect the Mises. are due at Auckland on Tuesday afternoon, unless it is decided to prolong the stops at the bases.
