YACHTING CHAMPIONSHIP
APPEAL DISCONTINUED

It was anncuncedi at a meeting of the New South Wales- Eighleen-foot-ers League that the Australian Board of Control had decided not to continue with Mr. B. Swin'bourne’s appeal against the Taree’s disqualification in the world championship, held at Auckland! in February. The Queenslandi and New South Wales members of the Board of Control agreed that, although the conditions of the championship had not been carried out, it was in the interests of inter-Dominion sporting harmony that the decision in New Zealand should remain unaltered. Mr. SwiiKbourne protested that the Board had no authority to make such a decision. He had' appealed to New Zealand, and not to New Scrt.’i Wales or Queensland. As a result of the dceis’on.
