AMERICAN LECTURER’S PRAISE

“You in New Zealand have an educational system to be proud of. There is no need’ to make any apologies about it.” That, in essence, was the opinion expressed by Dr. A. K. Botts, of New York, addressing the Auckland .Education Board to-day. Dr. Botts has for a year been acting as lecturer at the Teachers’ Training College, under the exchange system. He expressed.’ thanks, for (he opportunity to visit South Island and other training colleges. .“The comparisons I made on. my southern tour wore not to the disadvantage of the Auckland Training College,” he> said. He added that, while in the United States there was a. three or four-year course for teachers, the two-year course adopted here was intensive and efficient.
