MILITARY TRAINING.
|TO THE EDITOR.] Sir, —Through the medium of your paper I would like to write a. few words on military training. To my mind, there is nothing better, physically or mentally, for a young man than territorial training. In Greymouth there is a very enthusiastic Territorial force, which, although quite efficient, is too small for a town of this size, and it behoves every physically til, young man to join up and show h.is patriotism. lam not. a war-mad crank, but, thinking persons can see we must be prepared for any emergency, for in the next war New Zealand will be in danger of invasion, and our coastline must be guarded by trained men. 1 will close now by urging every young man to join up with the Territorials, 'it would be found a better pastime than street-lounging. Yours, etc., PATRIOTISM.
