A sitting of the Motueka Licensing Committee was held, Messrs. Raymond Ferner (S.M. and chairman), C. F. Lynch. J. Noble and J. W. Riley attending. Ward, who has been on holiday in Wellington, has returned. With no rainfall of any appreciable quantity- for almost three weeks, the Inangahua District is in need of a good fall. Gardens are dry. and the effect of the lack of moisture on pasture is noticeable. The Swimming Club have been compelled to close the Reefton Baths, owing to being unable to replenish the supply. Swimmers are forced to make use of the river..
