I pro THE EIHTOB.] | Sir, —In view of the commendable activities of the. Minister for Transport. towards the elimination of road risks. I was amazed to notice the number of offenders still to he seen by any observant, person in the streets of Greymouth. On Eriday night, last 1 was driving up Tainui Street, and was most unfavourably impressed by the number of cyclists riding more than two abreast, some without lights, and others without reflectors. Surely the local authorities must be aware of these serious and dangerous breaches of the safety regulations, and it surprises me that some better supervision is not exercised. As a new resident, to your town, and one who is compelled to use the streets in the course of his dailj- occupation, [ am very disappointed to find that Greymouth is so much behind other centres in the control o c its traffic.— Yours, etc., “ONE WHO TRIES.”
