[OUR OWN COBBESPONDENT.] REEFTON, February 3. Before Mr W. B. Auld J.P. at, the Magistrate's Court, William Marne. Clark who had been arrested that, day, was charged with the theft ot £lO. the property of C. 11. Cleaver. Accused "was remanded to February 7. Bail was allowed, being fixed at. £5O for self and one surety of £5O. A public, meeting was held in the Council Chambers, the County Chairman (Mr J. M. Seawright) presiding, last, evening, to consider the- question of the holding of a Physical Fitness week at Reefton and the formation of a committee. There was l a fair attendance. Correspondence was also read from the Under-Secretary. Department of Internal Affairs, and also from Mr C. F. Schadick. member of the National Council of Physical Welfare. of Westport, W'ihch embraced the Inangahua County. It was carried that a Physical Fitness week be held in Reefton from February IS to 25; that a. local committee be set up; that the. committee be of six members: and that the names be submitted to the Minister of Internal Affairs for approval. . The County Chairman (Mr J. F. Seawright) and Or. J. McGregor are to represent the Inangahua County Council, Messrs W. Edwards, R. A. Dickie, Jack Cressman, G. A. Rud, with Father O’Brien as secretary (pro tern), were nominated by the meeting. Suggestions for the Physical Fitness week were discussed and it was decided to approach sports bodies with a view to organising a function.
