AMATEUR ATHLETICS
LAST EVENING’S RESULTS. The Greymouth Amateur Athletic Club’s weekly meeting was held at the Recreation Ground last evening in fine weather, but the track was heavy after rain. The entries were smaller than usual, owing to the unfavourable weather over the past few weeks, and ■there was only a fair attendance of spectators. The results were:— 100 yards, schoolboys: E. Hornsby 1, N. Bassett 2, E. Davidson 3.
100 yards senior men (final): McNaughton 1, L. Wilson 2, Spivey 3. Won by 2J yards. Time 11 2-ssecs. 100 yards junior men (final): G. Parry 1. G. Kennedy 2, G. Penhale 3. Won by two yards. Time 11 2-ssecs. 100 yards, ladies: N. White 1, Beckwith 2, Brailsford 3. Won by three yards.
880 yards men: W. Wilson 1, McNaughton 2, McDonnell 3. Won by five yards. Time, 2.11 2-5. 440 yards, boys: E. Davidson 1, Hornsby 2, Gilbert 3. Won by 10 yards. Time 75secs. Discus Throw: W. Butler (88ft) 1, B. Wilson (83ft), G. Harker (83ft.) equal 2. 40 yards boys’ relay: Harrison’s team 1.
440 yards men’s relay: W. Mann’s team 1.
