BLACKBALL NOTES
[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) The monthly meeting of the Blackball School Committee was held in the schoolroom. Present: Mrs Mason (chairwoman), Mesdames Chilton and Anderson, Messrs Kidd, Lowry (hon. secretary), and Mr Allen (schoolmaster).
The headmaster reported the roll number for the month totalled 177. The total for one wegk was only 65 per cent, on account of sickness. Correspondence was received from the New Zealand Education! Institute (Grey Branch), the Secretary of the West. Coast School Committees’ Association, Assistant Commissioner of Stamp Duties, Hokitika, Grey Power Board inspection notice regarding pump water.
Miss Williams was granted leave of absence to attend University examinations.
The Secretary was instructed to write to the Education Board for installation of water tap outside school and tank for boys’ out-office. Accounts amounting to £B/3/11 were passed for payment.
