MEETING

ANDREW JOHNSTON MISSION. ' That interest in the Mission now being conducted in the Baptist Church is of a genuine character was again evinced last evening by the large congregation present. A challenging address was delivered by the missioner on the subject: “Does God speak to men to-day?” Mr Johnston proved that the Almighty One speaks as, definitely now to the human heart as He did in the days of past generations, and that obedience to His voice results, in the blessing and enrichment of lire and character. Assisted by the appeal of Mrs Johnston’s soul-stirring singing, the missioner’s message made a deep impression on all present. Standing at the door after the meeting had concluded’ one heard over and over again the remark, “Wasn’t it wonderful?” One result of the splendid youth rally of Sunday afternoon has been that Mr Johnston is receiving pressing requests to address schools within the Borough. To-day he had two large gatherings of Main School pupils, and in his graphic way he described and illustrated work'Suiongst the blind in St. Dunstan’s, London, and other institutions where blind folk are trained and prepared for useful citizenship and service. f A feature of last evening’s service was a parade in uniform of members of the 2nd company of the Boys’ Brigade of the Coast, together with their officers. The lads’ singing of “Hold the Fort” was inspiring. Greymouth folk are urged not to miss this opportunity of hearing a man with a message for to-day. Tonight’s subject will' be, “God’s first question to Man.”
