[PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] LAD INJURED FOXTON, September 6. A twelve-year-old lad. Len Eagle, was knocked down by a car on the Himatangi highway at 6.20 p.m. The driver of the car was dazzled by the headlights of an oncoming car. Eagle sustained head injuries, and an injury to the knee. He was removed to the Palmerston North Hospital. BAND CONTEST. CHRISTCHURCH, September 6. The Christchurch Band Contest Committee have declined to run the New Zealand Bands’ Associations annual contest in Christchurch ni IfHJIn conseciuence of this decision, a meeting of citizens of Christchurch, which was presided over by the Mayor, Mr. R. M. MacFarlane, was held today. and a- new committee, comprising 28 citizens. was set up. It was decided unanimously to adopt, the terms of the N.Z. Brass Bands, Association for the contest.
ELECTRICAL TRADERS WELLINGTON, Sept. 7.
The annual conference of the New Zealand Electrical Traders’ Federation was held recently at Wellington, Mr. .1. M. Fleming presiding. The report stated that, as a result of the membership campaign, the numerical strength of the.local associations had been increased, and a- further organised effort is being planned. Officers were elected as follow:—President, Mr. Fleming (Wellington); Vice-Pre-sident,, Mr. H. S. Lamburd (Wellington) ; Executive Committee, Messrs J. A. C. Allum, J. F. Armitage (Auckland Association). P. S. Turner, L. James (Canterbury), C. J. Darracott, H. P. Desmoulins (Dunedin), Fleming and Lamburd (Wellington Wholesalers’ Assn.), W. S. Cederholm, G. W. Waite (Wellington Contractors’ Association); Advisory Committee, Messrs S. Cory Wright (Auckland), R. A. Depath (Canterbury). C. S. Stewart (Dunedin), Fleming (Wellington Wholesalers), Cederholm (Wellington Contractors); Hon. Auditor, Mr. R. J. Porter (Wellington); Secretary-treas-urer, Mr. Frank Ross (Wellington). The next conference will be held at Wellington.
