[by CABLE —PREB9 ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.]* LONDON, September 6. “The Times’s’’ Jerusalem correspondent says that the rebels, attacking Lydda nocturnally, burnt the Post Office, damaged a railway bridge, and derailed an engine, blocked the line, and cut down 4000 Jewish-owned fruit trees. The increasing boldness of a coldblooded assassin, who indiscriminately murders Arabs and Jews, is creating alarm. MORE SHOOTINGS. (Recd. September 7, 2.30 p.m.) JERUSALEM, September 6. An Arab jumped from a motor-car, and fired ten shots, killing a Jewish shopkeeper and ' a customer, and wounding another, and then drove off. pursued by the police, who arrested the driver and three passengers, all armed with automatics. Four terrorists were killed in an engagement in the Jewish settlement of Mishmarhayrden. A Jewish supernumerary constable was killed and a companion wounded at Rishonlezion. An Arab constable was fatally injured at Beersheba.
