SERIOUS ILLNESS ANNOUNCED

[by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. COPYRIGHT.]

LONDON, August 8.

The “Daily Herald” says that seven doctors are attending the Turkish President, Kemal Ataturk, who has been hovering between life and death for a week on board his private yacht off Istanbul.

The news that he is suffering from a grave liver complaint has been kept from the Turkish people, who were merely advised that he had slightly improved after a serious chill.

His condition was so serious on Thursday that the Cabinet was summoned to consider the nomination of a temporary President. No decision was reached. ISTANBUL. August 8. Kemal Ataturk is recovering from his illness.
