It. was announced at a meeting of the Manawatu Rugby Union that the only nomination received by the New Zealand Union for the office of president of the latter was that of Mr. A. M. Ongley, president of the Manawatu Union, and congratulations on the honour conferred were expressed. Mr. Ongley has been closely associated with the game as a player and an administrator. He represented North Otago in 1900, and later Hawke’s Bay and Manawatu. He is well known also in cricket as a player and selector of country teams.
