EGYPTIAN TARIFFS
LANCASHIRE PROTEST [BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.] RUGBY, April 26. The British Ambassador at Cairo on instruction has informed the Egyptian Government that the British Government is gravely concerned at the increases in the Egyptian tariff on coston goods which have been announced and which must seriously affect the Lancashire textile industry. The British Government reserves the right to express its views more fully when the details of the tariff increases have been considered. Mr. Robert Hudson, Secretary for Overseas Trade, is receiving a deputation of representatives of the Lancashire cotton industry to discuss the effect of the tariff increases. NEW CABINET CAIRO, April 27. Kink Farouk has accepted the resignation of Mahmoud Pasha’s Cabinet, but has requested him to form a new Cabinet. LATER.
